In a world where the availability of energy has a profound impact on the well-being of communities, there are individuals who are driven by a strong determination to create a positive impact. Meet Robert, an esteemed engineer who is one of those individuals. A short eight years ago, on his way to work, Robert noticed solar panels on our property and reached out asking if he could use them. It was then when our partnership formed. Ever since we have worked together to promote sustainability and create a greener future for our community.
Robert’s dedication to the cause has led him to transport discarded and broken solar panels to hospitals, farms and schools, providing a reliable source of power that empowers local communities and creates job opportunities for the people he serves. As an immigrant of Ghana, Robert understands the importance of access to reliable energy sources. He witnessed firsthand the impact of energy poverty on communities. After attending ITT Tech and becoming an engineer, he noticed an opportunity that would change the course of his life forever.
Since beginning this journey, Robert’s primary focus is to provide solar panels as a reliable source of power to remote areas of Africa. These panels are transported to hospitals, farms and schools. While Robert’s primary efforts are directed towards Africa, he has extended his work within the United States. Robert’s dedication to his cause didn’t stop with solar panels. Recognizing the need for continuous power, he started working with donated lithium batteries to send over as additional power sources.
As a result of Robert’s inspiring journey to bring solar power to remote areas, the lives of many have been transformed. His unwavering dedication to renewable energy, job creation and community empowerment exemplifies the spirit of positive change that we, at Walters Apartments, are proud to support. As we embark on this partnership, we look forward to witnessing the brighter future that solar energy can bring to those who need it the most. Together, we can create lasting change and empower communities for generations to come.
