At Walters Apartments, we understand the importance of fostering wellness across our communities. Promoting well-being goes beyond our residents and extends to our dedicated staff as well. In a continuous efforts to create a nurturing environment, we have introduced various initiatives that cater to both our residents and employees.
At our senior properties, we ensure our residents have access to a variety of wellness activities. Currently, we offer yoga classes at four of our properties and Zumba at one. These classes are designed to help residents stay active, improve flexibility and enhance their overall well-being. We understand the importance of physical health for seniors, and these classes offer an excellent opportunity to help them stay in shape.
In September 2023, we introduced a new wellness program specifically designed for our staff. We began offering yoga classes for our employees and the feedback has been incredible. These classes not only contribute to the physical and mental well-being of our team but also foster team building and camaraderie.
In addition to physical wellness, we also value the mental health of our staff. Recently, our social services team organized a training on compassion fatigue and self-care. This training reflects our dedication to improving the mental health and work life balance of our staff, ensuring that they can provide the best form of care for both themselves and our residents.
